The first thing I have to mention- they actually made glass walks useful!!! It used to be almost pointless, now it's amazing on both the Tower and the Pyramid! Thank god. Now, for actual content:The new character, Gladiator, is fun to play even though I feel like I'm going to break my mouse button with the amount of spam clicking you have to do :P Fits in well with the existing characters while still being unique.The new Pyramid dungeon is also fun and feels very different from the main dungeon. I love that you get a TON of epic items in the Pyramid when in the tower, you might see one or two per run. Also, on the last set of floors, you're kind of obligated to speed through to find certain things before going back to clear everything- in the tower, I always went through the whole floor slowly and cleared things one room at a time, so that was definitely different. It feels like a whole different way of playing the game, which is great.I don't have too much to say about arena mode, except that the earlier levels aren't challenging at all if you already have high level characters. I haven't played enough of the later levels to know how good they are.One criticism I have about some of the changes is that they make the Tower a lot easier. The new tier of blessings and the statues in particular. It's a huge deal for melee characters to now be able to attack from a distance. Plus, the blessing attacks count as primary attack for lifesteal purposes, which is a little OP. Given that you can keep increasing your NG+ level infinitely, I assume it'll eventually be hard again, but yeah. The game is definitely easier with the DLC than without. It might be more balanced if bonuses from the statues didn't apply to Tower runs.tl;dr: If you're a big fan of the original game, you should definitely get this DLC and experience a different way of playing the game.. Great Expansion for 7$ worth every penny the monsters are great, Even with my NG+4 character Was having troubles pushing through with my friends.BUT HOW DARE YOU TAKE THE AGE OF EMPIRES 2 COMMENTS FOR YOUR GAME!Lol just kidding, Must love AoE if you did that for your game thank you ^-^. If you are a fan of Hammerwatch in any capacity, this DLC is worth the price. It adds 3 new bosses with more interesting mechanics than previous bosses, a large arena mode, as well as a new story mode which offers more risk\/reward style gameplay with more complex puzzles. It is worth the buy.. Easily worth the asking price. Lots of new content.. A satisfying DLC picking up from where the original left off. Takes a bit of adjustment to understand the new systems, but a welcome addition. I really hope a second DLC is in the works.. Wow.This DLC was pitched as aimed at players already high in level. I was skeptical of this - surely, I thought, given the fantasy firepower we were hefting around, balancing\/presenting a mission pack or campaign that could appropriately challenge Hammerwatch veterans who knew all the mechanisms of the game would be difficult. Keeping it fresh & fun, also difficult. Surely we would form our party and steamroll through whatever this threw at us.Nope.Pyramid Of Prophecy hits that sweet spot between tough and fun. It adds many elements to keep you interested, as grizzled a Hammerwatcher as you may be. The graphics remain refined pixels, seriously refined... it may only be pixels, but the level of art here is impressive! Great animations, great sounds, curses (!), and the new Gladiator class with his\/her net tossing, the slowdown aspect of which makes them worthy on its own. My only complaint lies therein: veterans will all want to try the 1 new class... the ideal really ought to have been 3 or 4 new classes. Still, it is a challenge for experienced\/developed characters, so this is more a quibble than a strike against.Until you get into the Pyramid proper, you may think,"Gee... I should have set up a higher difficulty level host." And then you enter.Absolutely recommended. The developer should continue doing Hammerwatch as long as their ideas remain this creative.
